Unlimited Data Enrichment API, $0.001 Live Lookups

Kooperativa is an unlimited data enrichment API in the sense that matters for budgeting. A flat license of $499 a month covers every standard lookup, search and monitor, with no credits and no per-record charges. On top of that, two live endpoints that fetch a record from the source at the moment you ask cost $0.001 each.

Most enrichment vendors work the other way round: you buy a pool of credits and every lookup draws it down. Flat pricing changes how a team designs its pipeline, because the cost of one more request is zero.

What unlimited covers

The license covers person and company enrichment, people and company search, bulk enrichment, colleagues, similar profiles, job changes, hiring signals, institution alumni, decision makers, headcount by seniority and webhook monitors. None of them is metered. There is no credit balance to run down, no charge for a lookup that finds nothing, and no per-seat fee, since team seats are unlimited too.

Where the limits are

Each workspace has a rate limit of 500 requests per minute by default. It exists to keep the service stable and can be adjusted if your usage pattern needs a different ceiling. At the default, a workspace can in principle send 720,000 requests a day, so the limit constrains bursts and not monthly totals.

Three more constraints belong in an honest description of unlimited. The terms prohibit reselling or redistributing the data, which is what makes a flat price workable. The two live endpoints are metered separately. And there is no contact data at all: no email addresses and no phone numbers, so a workflow built around those needs another source.

What a live lookup costs

The two live endpoints, one for people and one for companies, skip the stored data and fetch the record from the source when you call them. Each call costs $0.001. Usage is billed on the same Stripe subscription as the license and invoiced early whenever it reaches $50. Live endpoints need a paid license, so a month costs $499 plus the live calls.

Live calls in a monthMetered chargeTotal with the license
1,000$1$500
10,000$10$509
100,000$100$599
1,000,000$1,000$1,499

Three billing rules matter more than the unit price

A call that returns not found is billed, because the source was reached and answered. A call that fails on our side or times out is not billed. And there is no cache, so two live calls for the same person are two charges.

Those rules are why we recommend the stored endpoints first and the live ones only where freshness matters. Crustdata, for comparison, reserves its live endpoints for enterprise contracts according to its published pricing as of 2026, which our comparison page covers in detail.

How to work out whether flat pricing wins

Per-credit pricing is cheaper at low volume and flat pricing is cheaper at high volume, so the question is where the lines cross. The crossover is the license price divided by what one lookup costs you.

Take one cent per lookup, close to the HubSpot Credits rate described on our Clearbit comparison page. $499 divided by $0.01 is 49,900 lookups a month. That is an illustration and not a quote from any vendor, so use the figure from your own contract. Vendors that charge several credits for some fields or sources, as Clay and Crustdata do according to our comparison pages, push the crossover lower.

Below the crossover a credit plan is cheaper, and a one-off cleanup of a few thousand records is a case where we would point you to credits.

Using stored data first and live data when it matters

A live lookup is worth $0.001 when a wrong value costs more than that. Three cases come up repeatedly: confirming a title before a message goes to a senior buyer, re-checking a record whose stored copy has an old fetch date, and filling the gap for a person who is not in the stored data yet. Everything else should use the stored endpoints, which cost nothing extra. This function applies that order:

Stored first, live only when the copy is too oldjs
const BASE = "https://kooperativa.io/api/v1";
const headers = { Authorization: `Bearer ${process.env.KOOPERATIVA_API_KEY}` };
const MAX_AGE_DAYS = 14;

async function personFor(username) {
  const stored = await fetch(`${BASE}/person?username=${username}`, { headers });
  if (stored.status === 451) return null; // withdrawn, do not retry
  if (stored.ok) {
    const { data } = await stored.json();
    const ageDays = (Date.now() - new Date(data.fetched_at).getTime()) / 86_400_000;
    if (ageDays <= MAX_AGE_DAYS) return data; // covered by the flat license
  }
  // Missing, or older than we accept: pay $0.001 for a live lookup.
  const live = await fetch(`${BASE}/person/realtime?username=${username}`, { headers });
  return live.ok ? (await live.json()).data : null;
}

Who this model does not fit

It does not fit if you need contact reveals, if your total volume is a few thousand lookups once, or if you want a workflow builder with several vendors behind it. Kooperativa is a direct API over one dataset, and the flat price pays off when the same pipeline runs every day.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Kooperativa API really unlimited?

Every standard endpoint is included in the flat $499 monthly license with no credits and no per-record charge. Each workspace has a default rate limit of 500 requests per minute to keep the service stable, and the two live endpoints are metered separately at $0.001 per call.

How much does a real-time lookup cost?

$0.001 per call on the two live endpoints, on top of the license. A not-found result is billed, a timeout or failure on our side is not, and there is no cache, so repeated calls for the same subject are billed each time.

When is flat pricing cheaper than credits?

When monthly volume is above the license price divided by your effective cost per lookup. At one cent per lookup that is about 49,900 lookups a month. Below that volume credits are cheaper.

Does the license include email addresses or phone numbers?

No. Kooperativa returns professional profile and company data and does not provide contact details.
